Darwin Núñez is back on the scoresheet for Liverpool.

The Uruguay international has only been a middling hit for the Reds this season after his big-money move from Benfica.

But he’s scored his first since the World Cup restart this afternoon against Newcastle.

Darwin was played in by Trent Alexander-Arnold with a fairly straightforward ball into the penalty area.

And there was the 23-year-old to fire in past Nick Pope.

It’s only his sixth goal of the season so far but you could see on his face just how much it meant.
