Liverpool’s summer signing Darwin Núñez is off the mark for Liverpool and has a second-half hat-trick against RB Leipzig.

Luis Díaz went down under the challenge of Leipzig keeper Janis Blaswich and the Uruguayan forward, on as a second-half substitute, was handed the ball for an opportunity to get his first Liverpool goal from the spot.

The 23-year-old’s powerful shot was deflected onto the post and in by the diving Blaswich.

Not two minutes later and Núñez was at it again, this time found by Trent Alexander-Arnold, the striker found the side netting with an emphatic finish from within the box.

Liverpool then proceeded to do what they do best, winning the ball high up the field. Harvey Elliot is slipped in behind the Leipzig defence before rolling the ball across the six-yard area for Núñez to tap in.

The monkey is off his back and with three goals already, they will surely continue to come.
