The Danish FA have confirmed this morning that Christian Eriksen is in a stable condition and will remain in hospital so he can have further examinations.

In a statement tweeted out by the Denmark Football Association, they reassured the footballing world that Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is in a stable condition following his ordeal yesterday evening.

“This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his teammates. His condition is stable and he continues to be hospitalised for further examination.”

Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 game against Finland in Copenhagen. The game was immediately stopped by referee Anthony Taylor and he waved the medical staff on straight away.

AC Milan and Denmark defender Simon Kjaer has been commended for his quick decision to put Christian Eriksen in the recovery position as paramedics made their way over to him.

After receiving treatment on the pitch for a period of time, Christian Eriksen was taken to the hospital with both UEFA and the Danish FA confirming that he was safe and talking.

As the statement says, the team will receive crisis assistance after the events of yesterday.

“The team and staff of the national team has received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday’s incident.”
