Danilo D’Ambrosio To Start For Inter In Serie A Clash With Spezia, Italian Media Report

Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is set to start in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Spezia tomorrow, with the 33-year-old to be a part of a rotated backline.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is set to start D’Ambrosio as he rotates his defense to make up for absences.

Stefan de Vrij is still missing from the team as he completes his recovery from the injury which he picked up during the international break, and is aiming for a return against Roma.

Meanwhile, the likes of Andrea Ranocchia and Matteo Darmian are both out with thigh injuries, with their returns expected around the middle of December.

Inzaghi looks set to rest Edin Dzeko, Nicolo Barella, and Ivan Perisic in tomorrow’s match, and Federico Dimarco is likely to start in place of Perisic rather than in the backline meaning that D’Ambrosio will be trusted in defense.

The Gazzetta’s predicted eleven for the match is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, Bastoni, D’Ambrosio; Dumfries, Vidal, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lautaro, Correa.
