Italian referee Daniele Orsato will take charge of Manchester City's 'group decider' against Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium on matchday five of the Champions League group stage.
The experienced Italian match official is a Champions League regular and considered one of Europe's top referees - last season alone UEFA entrusted him with United vs. PSG, Chelsea vs. Atletico, PSG vs. Bayern Munich, and Chelsea vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League. When it comes to Manchester City he was the man in the middle for arguably City's greatest night in Europe's elite competition, in front of fans - a 2-1 comeback win at the Bernabéu against Real Madrid - where he awarded City a penalty for a foul on Raheem Sterling and sent Sergio Ramos off for hauling down Gabriel Jesus. Orsato also oversaw City's 5-0 play-off win against Steaua Bucharest where he awarded City two penalties, of which Sergio Aguero missed both, but scored a hat-trick to make up for it. His only other encounter was Lyon's 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.
Infamously for PSG, he was referee for their Champions League final defeat against Bayern.
