Maybe Daniele De Rossi is still angry about Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
Maybe he’s struggling to cope with life on the pitch without his longtime friend and team-mate Francesco Totti.
Whatever the reason, De Rossi did not look like a happy man on Sunday.
The midfielder was sent off for an outrageous slap on Gianluca Lapadula during Roma’s Serie A match against Genoa.
The amazing thing is that De Rossi was supposed to be defending a set piece. He seemed more concerned with landing a cheap shot against Lapadula and was rightly penalised.
After video review, De Rossi was sent off was Genoa were handed a penalty.
To make matters worse for the Romans, Lapadula himself stepped up to convert the penalty and level the score at one.
