“Ghisolfi? We met and talked for a bit. First impressions were very positive. We will have time to talk about the transfer market, now I’m just thinking about tomorrow’s match,” said De Rossi.

“Dybala is fine. He trained during the week and can play tomorrow. He is available,” he added.

“I have to make the formation that I think can win me the match, even if it has more weight for Empoli than for us,” he said, in reference to Empoli being in a battle against relegation with Udinese.

“Spinazzola won’t come tomorrow, he’s better but he’s not ready to play yet. Baldanzi is well and available.”

“These months on the Roma bench have taught me what to improve on in the future, and that my staff and I are capable of this job and can give a lot to this team to achieve the club’s objectives. We’re in the right place,” he added.

“Next season will be important for Roma, we will be able to make a change and do something more sustainable and long-term,” he continued.

“Chances of us qualifying for Champions League? I think it’s difficult for this Atalanta team not to score points to reach top four. If we get to the Europa League, we will go and play the competition I dreamed of as a child. It’s a competition I respect a great deal because of all the wonderful memories Roma made in it in recent years.”

“Atalanta’s Europa League win vs Bayer? Playing a final, a single match against an opponent is different than facing them over two legs. We had a different path with some difficulties at the beginning.”

“Atalanta handled it better than we did but it’s easier to lose over two legs. I said it from the beginning: there is no team better suited to defeat Leverkusen than Atalanta. They got right all of the things that we did wrong. Atalanta was built differently, with the same coach for years. It will be a great challenge to try to replicate what they did.”

“Players on the way out? We will make the necessary evaluations for what is best for us and which departments need strengthening.”
