Daniele De Rossi discusses mentality as key to success in positive start with Roma

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi spoke about the importance of instilling a certain kind of mentality as the key to the team’s recent success.

Following the Giallorossi’s emphatic 4-0 win over Brighton, De Rossi spoke to Roma TV and answered questions regarding Roma’s intense work on the mental side of the ball.

“A coach must do this, in all sports. Great coaches write books and explain how important the mind is when it comes to sports,” said De Rossi.

“Not only to play the game, but also to train harder, not that they didn’t do that before. I know that my requests are sometimes complex, but if I can get the players to buy into these ideas and convince them that this is the way to win and we get positive results along the way, then that’s great.”

“We haven’t done anything yet, but we’re well on our way,” he added.
