“A real tough game,” said De Rossi. “We had to sweat for it. The main problem was our attitude and the fact that they won too many second balls and aerial duels.”

“Some of my choices we also wrong. We didn’t have a good first half, we had a limp first half from every point of view. The second half went better, but we didn’t take enough shots given how long we kept the ball for. We must improve in this.”

“Let’s look at it from this point of view – after the three Europa League games, we always had three bad first halves. Frosinone, Torino and today. And every time I played with a 3-man defense to give the team more security. It is clear that they do not need this security. It feels like they reject this kind of formation. Perhaps we need to analyze this fact.”

“Not losing a match like this is fundamental not only for the standings, but for the enthusiasm there is in the locker room. I don’t like celebrating draws, however, we played against a great team in a difficult stadium. We stayed in the game with the right attitude until the end.”

“It’s a long season and nights like these are bound to happen. It’s day and night between losing and drawing. Not only for the position in the league table, but also for the enthusiasm among the team and fans.”

“Llorente’s goal? Llorente is a player of impressive quality, he is almost wasted as a defender. Evan also gives him a golden ball, not easy on a tense cross. I don’t even need to talk to Mancini. The stadium was asking for the second yellow card more than a goal, it’s not a technical change, it’s just to prevent the red card. This protest was strong in the stadium, in my opinion he would have been sent off shortly thereafter.”

“Dybala? Dybala had a great game. He came to get the ball even in positions less suited to his usual self. He came to give us a hand. He was fatigued, but he says he’s fine, he’s just a little tired but he’s okay because he’s played a lot of matches.”

“Aouar is strong, very strong. He scored a good goal, I’m happy because it will give him more confidence. I’m happy that he played 90 minutes, he deserves the goal. He didn’t have a great first half, then like everyone else he improved. I’m happy with him, he understands that I like his evolution. When I arrived he was a slightly different player. With his morale skyrocketing, he can give us a big hand.”
