Ethan Ampadu completed a permanent transfer to Leeds United earlier this summer.

The Championship outfit signed him on a four-year contract and the 22-year-old has already established himself as an important first-team player for the Whites.

Ampadu recently played the entire game against Cardiff City on Sunday and he played from start to finish in the first round of the Carabao Cup against Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday night as well.

It is expected that the 22-year-old is likely to play another 90 minutes at the weekend.

Clearly, the summer signing has had a lot of workload since joining Leeds United and manager Daniel Farke has revealed that the situation is not ideal.

Farke is well aware that the player is being put under a lot of strain but Leeds are currently lacking in options when it comes to the central defensive department and they are forced to use Ampadu often.

“Not yet,” Farke said. “We would have liked to rest Ethan, but we have problems at CB. Positioning in midfield was not ideal without him in there.”

The 22-year-old will undoubtedly be delighted with ample game time at the Championship club but he needs his workload managed so that he does not pick up an injury further into the season.

Ampadu could be a key player for Leeds this season and he will hope to help them get promoted back to the Premier League.
