Leeds United have narrowed down their search for a new manager to three candidates, including Daniel Farke, Carlos Corberan, and Scott Parker, according to The Guardian.

All three managers have enormous experience in managing lower-league clubs, and Leeds will hope whoever sits in the dugout next season spearheads a quick return to top-flight football.

Daniel Farke led Norwich City to Premier League promotion in the 2018/19 campaign but could not help the Canaries maintain top-flight status before departing Carrow Road in 2021.

The German tactician is a free agent after leaving Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach after just one year in charge but has been linked with a quick return to the dugout.

Farke was one of the candidates considered by Celtic after losing Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham Hotspur. But the Scottish Premiership champions look set to renew acquaintances with former manager Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers was also linked with the Leeds job after his unceremonious departure from Leicester City. But the Northern Irish gaffer was keen to take an extended absence from the dugout before Celtic came calling.

Corberan is another who has impressed in England’s second-tier division, steering West Bromwich Albion toward the play-off places, but they missed out by three points after winning just two of their final five games.

However, the Spanish manager has pricked the interest of the Leeds board, who are carefully considering their next appointment after failing to avoid relegation despite working through three managers last season.

Parker helped Bournemouth return to the English top flight after finishing two points behind Marco Silva’s Fulham but was sacked by the Cherries after a massively underwhelming tenure in the Premier League.

Leeds are currently in the process of completing a full takeover by the San Francisco-based investors 49er Enterprises after owner Andrea Radrizzani completed the purchase of Serie B club Sampdoria.

Ahead of what could be a crucial transfer window for the Whites, Leeds have hired Nick Hammond to oversee recruitment on a short-term contract.

He will act as a replacement to former sporting director Victor Orta who was sacked in May.
