The agent of Barcelona star Dani Olmo has confirmed that, over the summer, the Blaugrana were the recipients of a record-breaking transfer offer for a leading member of the club’s frontline.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine, for his part, was of course fresh off a breakout campaign this past summer, one which saw the Spaniard establish himself as world football’s standout young talent.

As much was followed by the winger, at just 17, playing a starring role for Spain en route to clinching glory at the European Championships.

Outside interest in Lamine’s signature, in turn, was inevitable.

And one club to have made more than clear their eagerness to bring the wing wizard in with a view to the 2024/25 campaign were Paris Saint-Germain.

Fresh off bidding farewell to Kylian Mbappé, the French champions are understood to have set their sights firmly on Lamine as his replacement.

And, if the latest comments on the part of one agent of a leading Barcelona star are anything to go by, then PSG went as far as to lodge a bid for the youngster, too.

Not only that, but it was a higher offer than any other in the history of the European game:

“One thing I know is that Barça did reject a big offer for Lamine Yamal from PSG,” Andy Bara explained during an appearance on Podcast Inkubator. “It was worth somewhere around €250M.”
