Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal was this week drawn on the impending arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold at the club.
And, despite the fresh competition coming his way, Carvajal appears to be excited by the prospect of having the Englishman as a teammate.
It is of course common knowledge across the world of football that Alexander-Arnold is all set to make the move to Spain’s capital this summer.
After allowing the terms of his contract with Liverpool to expire, the talented full-back has long agreed to the terms of a pre-contract with Real Madrid.
TAA is expected to battle it out for a starting berth in the XI of new boss Xabi Alonso against the aforementioned Dani Carvajal, himself still working towards a return to the pitch following a serious knee injury.
Speaking during an interview with El Chiringuito TV this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Alexander-Arnold’s arrival was put to Carvajal himself.
And the 33-year-old went on to explain:
“Competition with Trent? Yes, that’s clear. It’s not official yet, but it looks like it (laughs). Fear? No, there is no fear here. We will be teammates. The competition will strengthen both of us and will bring out our best.”
