Dani Alves is on the lookout for a new club but won’t land at former club Barcelona.

The Brazilian has not hidden his love for the club since leaving in 2016.

While playing for Juventus, Alves insisted Barcelona remained in his heart.

“You cannot play for a club for eight years and achieve everything that we did and not have that club in your heart for ever,” he said, while admitting he was almost reduced to tears after his new club eliminated Barça from the Champions League.

“Managers, players and board members come and go but Barça will never go away.”

He echoed those sentiments last year, while still contracted to PSG.

“Barça is my home. It’s impossible to say that I wouldn’t go back; I’ll go back tomorrow if they call me.”

But that call hasn’t arrived and there will be no return.

Having left PSG over the weekend, RAC 1 say the 36-year-old offered his services to Barcelona. But Mundo Deportivo say the La Liga champions aren’t interested.

The newspaper insists that Ernesto Valverde is not interested in adding Alves to his squad.

Barcelona currently have Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto as their right-back options for next season.
