Dani Alves is open to a return to Barcelona, according to journalist Oriol Domènech.

The Catalan club are not currently considering a move for their former right-back. The 38-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Sao Paulo over financial issues and can’t join a new club until 1 January 2022.

Esport3 report that Alves has spoken to the club this week and is willing to take a lower salary to play for the Camp Nou outfit. The experienced full-back has already made it very clear to his representatives that the priority today is Barça, urging them to park the rest of the offers that are coming in until the La Liga club makes a final decision.

Barcelona have Sergiño Dest, Óscar Mingueza and Sergi Roberto to play at right-back, but there is no doubt that the arrival of Alves, even at 38, would add quality and experience to the squad.

Alves became a key part of Barcelona’s team during his spell at the club from 2008 to 2016, winning 23 of his 43 career titles with Barça.
