“I don't know what kind of man you're used to dealing with, but this guy here is a very big man that never gives up. I only ask this year HEALTH to be able to continue doing what I love, with the people who want to try it. You don't make winners or champions by listening to what others think of you or talking too much,” he added on the social media post.

“You do it by fighting, by resisting, by playing with ‘huevos’ and demanding from oneself for the collective good. Everything is within one; your abilities, your strength and your resilience. All change takes its adaptation, call it whatever you want to call it..But the acceptance, knowledge and the learning are starting points of the intelligence. So we go for the second round with the confidence and personality that characterize us. Always positive and wanting to change the history of the PEOPLE. See you soon @pumasmx boyzz.”

Alves joined Pumas UNAM amid the Apertura campaign on July 23, 2022. Despite signing a one-year contract with the club, rumors of a potential exit swirled after a poor first season.

Pumas UNAM concluded the 2022 Apertura in 16th place on the table with just 14 points in 17 games and a record of 2W-7L-8D to miss out on the playoffs completely. The recent results came as a decline from the 2022 Clausura, when Pumas concluded in 11th place to qualify for playoffs.

The 2023 Clausura kicks off on January 8 for Pumas, as the team hosts FC Juarez at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario.
