Danel Sinani has revealed that Huddersfield Town would have signed him permanently had they been promoted to the Premier League.

Sinani spent the season on loan at the John Smith’s Stadium as the Terriers promotion bid fell short in the Championship play-off final, losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on the day.

Now, the 25-year-old has revealed that Huddersfield had given him assurances that his temporary switch to Yorkshire would be made permanent had they reached the top flight.

“Huddersfield had clearly told me that if we went up they would activate the option to buy, but that if they did not, it would be difficult financially,” Sinani told the Eastern Daily Press.

“Now I’ve had a season in the Championship and Norwich know how I work, but I have one year left on my contract and I don’t know if they’ll keep me.

“I will know more in a few weeks.”

Sinani certainly impressed during his Huddersfield loan spell, featuring 47 times for the Terriers in all competitions throughout the campaign.

During those matches, the 25-year-old scored seven goals and laid on five assists for his teammates.

The Verdict

Danel Sinani was seemingly 90 minutes from a move to a club in the top flight and where he was valued greatly, but things have not worked out in the 25-year-old’s favour.

Now, with the transfer window just opening, he must wait to hear from Norwich City over their future plans for him.

Given that he is yet to make an appearance for the Canaries since joining the club, it would be easy to suggest that a move away this summer could be on the cards.

However, after seeing his talents at this level last season, Norwich City would be best to keep hold of Sinani, as they no doubt look to challenge for another promotion back to the top flight.
