Milan secured three important points away at Hellas Verona this afternoon, bouncing back from the disappointing 1-1 draw against Udinese. In addition to Rade Krunic, Diogo Dalot on the scoresheet, two unexpected scorers.

The Portuguese full-back, who is on loan from Man Utd, replaced the injured Theo Hernandez on the left-hand side and responded with a lovely goal. It was his first with the Rossoneri in the league, having scored in Europa League earlier this season.

In an interview with MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Dalot spoke about the game and what it was like to score his first Serie A goal. He was also asked about Thursday’s clash against Man Utd in the Europa League round of 16.

On the first goal in Serie A and the performance of the team…

“I’m happy for this first goal but much more for the team’s performance. The attitude was right and we proved it.”

On his performance on both the right and left flank…

“In all matches, I try to do my best and give my best for the club. It is not easy to change positions in all matches but I want to give my best for Milan and the club.”

On his adaptation to Italian football…

“You can always improve. I’m a guy who wants to work and improve day after day. I’m adapting to the football we play. I’m happy because this match helps to give confidence to the team and to me.”

On his return to Old Trafford…

“It’s a special occasion, I can’t lie. I’m happy to see my teammates and a stadium that has given me so much. Now I’m a Milan player and if I play I’ll give my best for the club. If we arrive with this confidence we can do well.”

On the goal and if he tried it in training…

“I tried this goal in training. We always do a lot of shots at the end of the training. I scored it in the game and I’m very happy.”

If Hernandez is fit for the encounter on Thursday, then Dalot will probably be on the bench. Either way, he responded to some of the criticism he has received lately with a solid display this afternoon.
