The United Kingdom and Ireland had their bid to host Euro 2028 formally approved by UEFA on Tuesday. Ten stadia across the five nations will host the matches in five years’ time, with the final expected to be played at Wembley.

Former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard announced his retirement from football at the age of 32. The Belgian had been without a club since leaving Real Madrid in the summer, having made just 54 appearances following his €115m to the Spanish giants in 2019 due to injury. “You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time,” said Hazard in a statement.

The Brazilian’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and the extension announcement was delayed when club president Florentino Pérez tested positive for Covid last week.
