Gareth Southgate has called up Bukayo Saka (despite injury) and recalled Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins for his latest England squad. The Three Lions will face Australia and Italy during the upcoming October international break. There is no place for James Ward-Prowse or Raheem Sterling.

Robert Lewandowski to miss El Clásico

Barcelona have been struck by an injury blow. Robert Lewandowski was substituted in the first half of the Champions League win over Porto on Wednesday and the Pole will now be ruled out for weeks with an ankle issue with around three weeks until El Clásico on 28 October.

Premier League September award nominees revealed

Tottenham could be in for another big monthly win. Ange Postecoglou won Premier League Manager of the Month award for August, with James Maddison picking up the players’ award. Postecoglou is once again a frontrunner with the September nominations revealed on Thursday, with Spurs captain Son Heung-min nominated for Player of the Month.
