Got your breath back from that late Arsenal winner yet? There was a whole weekend to enjoy, not just Sunday’s blockbuster clash, and we’ve given out flowers to Alexander Isak, Everton, Tottenham and the Gunners as the international break begins.
It was 12 consecutive Premier League defeats to Manchester City for Arsenal before Sunday. The Gunners are over their hump against the champions now, though, so here’s a look at how that happened what it could mean for this season’s Premier League title race.
What’s he done this time? Well. From playing the villain (sort of) at his own son’s birthday party, to scoring and then playing the villain in Brazil over the weekend, the man is nothing if not on-brand. Brilliant but theatrical. Infuriating yet mesmerising. Enjoy him while you can, you’ll miss him once he’s gone.
Leicester went top of the WSL table this weekend as the only team with a 100% record just two games in. There’s that and so much more to talk about as Liverpool impressed, Manchester City suffered from red card mayhem against Chelsea, and Arsenal rescued a late point against Manchester United.
After a little over a year in America with DC United, it appears Wayne Rooney is set to return to England to team up with Tom Brady and build a team that can challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Birmingham have sacked John Eustace despite sitting sixth in the table and there’s only one candidate for the job.
