Curaçao, Panama seal first place finishes

MIAMI – Curaçao and Panama finished atop Group C and D, respectively, as the Second Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 concluded on Tuesday.
The Road to the 2026 continued for Concacaf nations with the final encounters of the Second Round during the June 2025 match window. The group winners and runners-up will progress to the Third and Final Round.
Group C
Saint Lucia 2, Barbados 1
Saint Lucia won 2-1 against Barbados in Group C at Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
Devonte Richards struck in the 12’ to place Barbados in the lead.
Caniggia Elva tied the match in the 42’ from a penalty kick opportunity.
A second yellow card in the 62’ led to the exit of Romario Small as Barbados were down to ten.
A right-footed strike from Elva secured the victory for the hosts in the 90’.
Haiti 1, Curaçao 5
Curaçao won 5-1 against Haiti in Group C at Compleho Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad in Oranjestad, Aruba.
Gervane Kastaneer placed Curaçao in front in the 12’, with Kenji Gorré adding to that tally in the 15’ for an early 2-nil lead.
Louicius Deedson cut the deficit for Haiti in the 61’ to bring the scoreline to the minimal difference.
Jearl Margaritha restored the two-goal lead for Curaçao in the 69’, before Kevin Felida extended the lead in the 89’.
Jeremy Antonisse put a bow on the victory with a fifth goal in the 90’+3’.
Group D
Guyana 3, Montserrat 0
Guyana won 3-nil against Montserrat in Group D at Synthetic Track and Field Facility in Leonora, Guyana.
Nathan Ferguson opened the scoring in the 35’ to place Guyana in front.
Osaze De Rosario extended the lead in the 38’, with an assist from Nathan Moriah-Welsh.
Omari Glasgow added a third for the hosts in the 72’, concluding Guyana’s qualifying campaign with a victory.
Panama 3, Nicaragua 0
Panama won 3-nil against Nicaragua in Group D at Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez in Panama City, Panama.
Tied through halftime, César Yanis broke the deadlock in the 56’ to take the lead for the hosts.
Ismael Díaz struck from outside the box to double Panama’s lead.
Éric Davis all sealed the victory in the 90’+3’, striking a header on a cross from Michael Amir Murillo.
