WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this afternoon.
The 24-year-old joins Newcastle United in a bid to get regular game time. The player missed more than a year of football with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury and while she returned to fitness last season, she was unable to get a consistent run of games with Crystal Palace.
Sibley has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with Crystal Palace in which she has made 23 appearances for the club in all competitions. The winger looked very bright prior to her long-term injury and she will be hoping to get back to her best form with Newcastle United.
After joining The Magpies, Sibley said “I’m delighted to have got this signed, sealed and delivered before the season starts.
“The Championship is a tough league, but with the ambitions of the club and the fans’ backing, I think it’s going to be a great season for everybody.
“When I got off the train and walked around the city centre I was amazed by all the Newcastle shirts, and then when I visited St. James’ Park it was pretty surreal walking down the tunnel and seeing the stadium. I’m excited to play the two games that we have there, as well as the games at Kingston Park, and playing in front of this great fanbase. I can’t wait to get started now.”
Sibley is Newcastle United’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
