Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest meet in the Premier League on Monday, 5th May, at 8:00pm (UK time).
The game will be played at Selhurst Park, where Palace are undefeated in their last five games. Meanwhile, Forest have not won at the Eagles’ ground since 2012.
Palace have won four of their last five league games at home. While Forest have enjoyed a remarkable season, their form has deteriorated in recent weeks, having lost four of their last nine league games.
Palace (86 goals) and Forest (92 goals) have seen the third and fourth-fewest goals in their Premier League games this season. All of their last five head-to-head clashes have seen under 2.5 goals. It’s unlikely that this one will be a goal-fest.
Despite a mid-season rally from Palace, which saw them win eight of their 12 league games between the end of December and start of April, Oliver Glasner’s side look destined to finish on the cusp of the Premier League’s top-half again in 2024-25. The Eagles are mathematically safe from relegation, while they sit [insert points] off [insert team] in seventh place – the last spot which qualifies for Europe. Palace have been as unremarkable as ever this season.
Meanwhile, Forest are knee-deep in one of the most exciting battles for Champions League football in recent memory. [Insert team] in third and [insert team] in seventh are separated by just [insert points] with four games left of the season. Forest are lethal against teams in the bottom half of the table, having picked up 43 from an available 48 points in those games this season.
Aside from long-term absentees Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad, the hosts should have all their players available.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are expected to be at full strength going into this game.
As mentioned, Palace vs Forest is often a low-scoring clash. While the Eagles are in better form than Forest, they have not won this fixture in their last eight attempts.
