The Eagles enjoyed a storming end to the last Premier League season, but they have found the going tough so far this term and go into Saturday’s home match with Manchester United without a win from their opening four games.

Predicted XIs

With no fresh injuries coming out of the EFL Cup win over QPR, Palace boss Glasner may revert to the team that drew 2-2 with Leicester in their last league game.

Crystal Palace (3-4-3): Henderson; Clyne, Guehi, Lacroix; Munoz, Wharton, Doucoure, Mitchell; Nketiah, Mateta, Eze.

It would be a surprise if the United team differed greatly from the one that started their 3-0 win at Southampton.

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot; Eriksen, Mainoo; Diallo, Fernandes, Rashford; Zirkzee

Manager Oliver Glasner had a dramatic effect on the club’s fortunes after taking over the Selhurst Park reins in February, and he will hope his team will soon start recovering from the departures of Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen after draws against Chelsea and Leicester.

United, meanwhile, look to be on the upgrade after a miserable 3-0 home loss to fierce rivals Liverpool before the international break.

Erik ten Hag’s team steadied the ship with a 3-0 win at Southampton, which they followed with a 7-0 EFL Cup success over League One Barnsley.

Under-fire striker Marcus Rashford has scored a total of three goals in those two matches and will be hoping to build upon that on this trip to south London.

Crystal Palace vs Man Utd Team News

Palace defender Chadi Riad is still unavailable after he picked up a knee injury in the Eagles’ EFL Cup second-round win over Championship side Norwich and it will also be a few weeks until Matheus Franca is back in action after he broke a rib.

Trevoh Chalobah is also unlikely to be involved after he suffered an abdominal injury in training and he is expected to still be a few weeks away from consideration.

Rob Holding has been training away from the main group after issues with Glasner, which the manager says will remain private, so the former Arsenal defender will not be involved either.

United, meanwhile, have plenty of defensive issues of their own as they look for their second away victory of the season.

Ten Hag will have to take on the Eagles without the unavailable quartet of new singing Leny Yoro (ankle), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Victor Lindelof (ankle) and Luke Shaw (calf).

There is some good news though as they look to avenge the 4-0 defeat they suffered the last time they visited Selhurst Park in May.

Midfielder Mason Mount has a chance of making the squad after a thigh injury, while Ten Hag’s attacking options will be strengthened by Rasmus Hojlund potentially being available for the first time since injuring his thigh in pre-season.
