Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: Player ratings as Jota STRIKES for Liverpool | OneFootball

Liverpool won 1-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park to increase their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Crystal palace came into the game looking for their first league win of the season but Liverpool, who were a point clear at the top of the table coming into the match, were never going to make it easy.

Palace nearly took the lead in less than a minute but Eddie Nketiah strayed into an offside position, meaning the score stayed 0-0.

A good ball from Tsimikas played in Cody Gakpo who passed the ball across to Diogo Jota to break the deadlock in the ninth minute.

Liverpool dominated the ball for the rest of the first half and entered the break with their 1-0 lead intact due to a reaction save from Alisson.

Palace offered more at the start of the second half but Crystal Palace were still not able to equalise and Alisson made a number of good saves to ride out any Palace comeback.

Palace came back into the game when Mateta came on and Alisson was forced to make a few more saves before the Brazilian shot stopper went off injured in the 77th minute.

Jaros impressed the first time he was called upon, making a fairly straightforward save when Eze had broken through one-on-one.

Liverpool were able to soak up the pressure from Palace in the second half and defended well to maintain their 1-0 lead to the end.

Alisson - 9: Alisson reacted well when called upon late in the half to keep Liverpool's clean sheet and made a few more saves throughout the second half, the Brazilian did everything that was asked of him today up until he got injured.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7: Overall a quiet game for Trent who created a few decent chances and forced a good save from Dean Henderson in the first half.

Ibrahima Konate - 7: Konate didn't have loads to do but also didn't put a foot wrong. A solid performance where the Frenchman saved Liverpool a few times.

Virgil van Dijk - 8: The skipper looked calm at the back, helping to set the tempo and earn another clean sheet for Liverpool. Some questionable hand placement for Crystal Palace's penalty shout but the foul wasn't given.

Kostas Tsimikas - 6: A good pass through to Gakpo for Liverpool's opener was a highlight. He left Van Dijk in trouble at times and didn't looked 100% switched on defensively.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7: Gravenberch covered a lot of ground and was impressive once again for the Reds.

Alexis Mac Allister - 6: Alexis Mac Allister had a fairly quiet first half and picking up a booking and offering little else. The Argentine was replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai at half time.

Curtis Jones - 7: Jones played well, driving the ball forward and creating a few chances with some neat passing.

Mo Salah - 6: Salah has had a quiet first half for the Reds and has looked a little slow, he improved slightly in the second half but overall it wasn't his best performance under Slot.

Diogo Jota - 8:  A calm finish to break the deadlock for Liverpool, Jota showed just how clinical he is. He did also squander a chance to put Liverpool 2-0 up when he miss hit a cross from Gravenberch.

Cody Gakpo - 7: A brilliant ball across to Jota for Liverpool's opener showed just what Gakpo can offer this side. A shot of his own that went sailing over the bar wasn't as good though. His booking felt a bit harsh too. Much like the rest of his teammates Gakpo had a much quieter second half than first.

Subs:

Dominik Szoboszlai - 6: Szoboszlai looked decent after coming on, didn't create loads but didn't really do anything wrong either.

Luis Diaz - 6: Liverpool were under some pressure when Diaz came on and he wasn't able to have much of an impact on the game.

Vitezslav Jaros - 7: For a youngster making his debut Jaros performed well. He was thrown in at the deep end but performed admirably.

Andrew Robertson - 6: The fullback didn't offer much going forward but helped Liverpool to soak up the pressure from Crystal Palace.

Wataru Endo - N/A: Wasn't really on the pitch long enough to be rated.
