Crystal Palace have joined Newcastle United and Napoli in the race for Torino defender Perr Schuurs amid growing interest in Marc Guehi, according to the Daily Mail.

The Eagles are concerned that their highly-rated English defender could exit Selhurst Park this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly weighing up a move.

Guehi joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021 and quickly established himself as a vital cog in the heart of the defence, making 82 appearances.

The 22-year-old played a prominent role in Palace’s mid-table finish last season, but he could soon be on the move again, and the club are planning for the worst.

They have identified the highly rated Schuurs as their primary target but will face competition from Newcastle and Serie A champions Napoli.

The Dutch defender joined Torino from Ajax just last summer, replacing Gleison Bremer, who joined Juventus and wasted no time establishing himself at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 23-year-old made 33 appearances across all competitions for the Vecchio Granata last season, helping Ivan Juric’s side to a mid-table finish in the Italian top flight.

However, they could struggle to keep him, although they are in a strong negotiating position, with the player’s contract set to run until 2026.

Newcastle have set their sights on Schuurs, looking to further strengthen the squad and add depth to the backline, with the Magpies set to play Champions League football next season.

Napoli see the former Ajax man as a potential replacement for Kim Min-jae, who is on the cusp of securing a move to Bayern Munich after just one year at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The 26-year-old has a release clause in his contract that could see him leave Napoli for a fee of around £42 million from the start of July.

The Scudetto champions were keen to renew his contract to remove the clause, but the South Korean defender reportedly has his heart set on a summer departure.
