The first weekend of Premier League games has delivered plenty of storylines but spare a thought for Crystal Palace.

But the England international’s well-struck effort was swiftly chalked off by VAR due to a push by teammate Will Hughes in the penalty area.

Just three minutes later, the Eagles found themselves behind at the Gtech Community Stadium as Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring.
