Crystal Palace have shown an interest in Southampton duo Mateus Fernandes and Tyler Dibling.
Crystal Palace are interested in Southampton duo Tyler Dibling and Mateus Fernandes as they prepare for life without star man Ebere Eze.
The Eagles enjoyed a remarkable campaign last time out, as they won the first major trophy in their history after beating Man City in the FA Cup final, thanks to an Eze goal.
However, the attacking midfielder looks set to leave ahead of the deadline, with Spurs closing in on the signing of the England international.
Therefore, Palace are in the market for reinforcements, and TalkSPORT has revealed that they are admirers of Southampton duo Fernandes and Dibling.
The update states the pair are on the shortlist for Palace as they look for replacements for Eze, and they would ideally want the new recruits through the door before the ex-QPR man departs.
Despite their relegation, Saints have so far managed to retain their two exciting talents, with Everton having made a move for Dibling earlier in the window, whilst West Ham have had an offer turned down for Fernandes.
It has been claimed that the south coast outfit want around £50m for the Portugal U21 international, and they’re seeking a similar sum for Dibling, who was one of the few positives from their relegation last season.
Southampton will have known that interest in Fernandes and Dibling wasn’t going to go away, as they are hugely talented players who have the ability to play at a higher level than the Championship.
But, the club have a valuation on the pair, and, as of now, they seem determined to get a huge fee for them, which is their prerogative.
Such uncertainty isn’t ideal though, and Will Still will be demanding that plans are in place if Dibling and Fernandes leave, as whilst they will bring in big money, they will need to be replaced.
Of course, any sales will drastically change the budget available to the boss, so Saints will need to be ready to act as we approach the final weeks of the window.
Fernandes, an attacking midfielder, has featured in all of Southampton's games so far, which includes starting the previous two. Meanwhile, Dibling was a late substitute in the draw at Ipswich on Sunday in what was his first outing of the campaign.
