Tom Barclay reckons the prospect of seeing Michael Olise, Conor Gallagher, Eberechi Eze, Wilfried Zaha and Odsonne Edouard in the same team is a "mouth-watering" one for Crystal Palace fans.

The quintet are yet to play together, although that could soon change once Eze returns from his long-term Achilles injury.

How have they performed this season?

It's no wonder that Barclay is excited at the potential of seeing those five players together at the same time, all of their eight Premier League goals have been scored by them besides Jeffery Schlupp's equaliser against Leicester earlier this month.

Zaha has a pair of penalties to his name, whilst Gallagher and Edouard have scored braces against West Ham and Tottenham respectively to help the Eagles collect their first point and then first win of the season in those London derbies.

Meanwhile, Olise scored his first top-flight goal to spark the comeback against Leicester and is slowly finding his feet having suffered an injury soon after his arrival from Reading.

Palace have endured just one defeat in their last five league matches and could be set for a major boost in the coming weeks once Eze makes his comeback from injury.

His return will give Vieira the thrilling prospect of being able to field those five players all at the same time – and Barclay has described it as "mouth-watering".

What did Barclay say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "That certainly is mouth-watering for Palace fans, who the majority had had enough of Roy Hodgson's style after four years.

"As much as they appreciated the stability that came with his approach, they were crying out for something more entertaining, and they've already got it with Vieira."

Could those five all play together?

Palace are playing a more expansive brand of football under Vieira compared to Hodgson but picking those five all in the same side is quite unlikely to happy any time soon.

When they're all fit, the front-free is likely to be made up of Eze, Zaha and Edouard, but with James McArthur and one of Luka Milivojevic and Cheikhou Kouyate providing protection in the middle of the park, it leaves just one space for either Gallagher or Olise.

In Gallagher's current form, he would most likely get the nod, meaning Olise would be the man to miss out, although that wouldn't be a great surprise considering he's the youngest and least experienced of the quintet.
