An alleged incident of racism towards Kamada was reported among the home section at Selhurst Park after the Japan midfielder was sent off during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham.

A Palace fan reported the alleged incident to the club’s anti-social behaviour text alert service but did not know who had shouted the alleged abuse.

Palace and the Metropolitan Police subsequently opened an investigation, CCTV footage has been reviewed but no suspect has been identified.

The Metropolitan Police told Standard Sport: “We received a report on Saturday, November 9 of racist abuse towards a Crystal Palace player during a game. This was a third-party report.

“Officers liaised closely with the club and those working at the ground, however no suspect has been identified.

“The investigation has since been filed, however this decision could be reviewed should further information come forward.”

Standard Sport understands Palace have also closed their investigation into the alleged incident.

Kamada joined Palace on a free transfer from Lazio in the summer and has featured in all 11 of their Premier League games this season.

He is yet to register a goal or an assist for the Eagles in the Premier League.
