Cruzeiro booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil thanks to a 1-1 draw at home to Atlético PR.

Atlético PR required two goals to have any chance of going through to the next round, being down on away goals having lost 2-1 at home in the first leg.

However, Atlético only managed to take three shots throughout the entire match and didn’t give themselves much of a chance to advance.

Cruzeiro’s Giorgian De Arrascaeta put the match out of reach with a goal in the 86th minute, using a combination of skill and a little bit of luck.

Fresh off an impressive World Cup performance with Uruguay, the 24-year-old midfielder is being watched by European clubs, such as Newcastle and Celtic, and is rumoured to be valued at €20m.

The visitors made the match interesting for a slight moment, with Bergson da Silva netting a very late goal that was never going to matter in the end.
