Arsenal target Ante Rebić made no secret of his desire to play in England’s top division.
The Croatia international caught the eye during the 2018 World Cup and has carried that form into his club game in Germany.
Rebić plies his trade for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga where he’s been drawing the attention of Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal.
The Red Devils had been more closely linked with the player earlier but now his focus appears to be shifting south towards London.
The Mail report that his price tag could be around €40.5 milion and his recent quotes suggest a player who is motivated for a move.
“I can’t deny many clubs, some from England, expressed an interest.”
Rebić scored six goals in the Bundesliga last season in 25 appearances. So far in this campaign, the Croatian has seven goals through just 14 appearances in the league.
“The Premier League is attractive and it would suit my style. I’d like to experience it.”
While the Gunners may be concerned with his countryman Ivan Perišić, Rebić can offer something else to Arsenal’s attack. The 25-year-old can excel as a target-man holding the ball up to feed team-mates surging past him into space.
As Arsenal have faced during this transfer window, they would need to squeeze any negotiations for the player into the format of a loan deal. Perhaps benefiting that aim, Rebić completed four loan spells while he was signed to Fiorentina.
