Sadio Mané has not enjoyed the debut season he was hoping for at Bayern Munich, struggling for fitness and form, and was most recently substituted at half-time of last weekend’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Now, German outlet SPORT1 claim the Senegal international is now starting to feel the heat from the Allianz Arena’s corridors of power.

The report says there have been concerns about Mané’s fitness levels within Bayern’s ranks since he returned from the leg injury that ruled him out of the World Cup.

Mané “lacks pace and explosiveness” the report adds, and the feeling at the club is that he brings “no added value” in his current form.

Bayern would have expected more from the €32m summer arrival from Liverpool and, though the 30-year-old has 11 goals in 28 appearances for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, he had failed to find the target in his first five games since returning.

The report adds that Mané himself has been self-critical and is determined to improve.

Bayern went into the international break a point behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga title race ahead of their top-of-the-table clash on 1 April.
