Cristiano Ronaldo is one of Man Utd’s all-time greatest players.
The renowned Portuguese star spent six years at club before moving to Real Madrid, winning three Premier League titles and, in 2008, the coveted Ballon d’Or.
But his time in England wasn’t always easy. After joining in 2003 as an ambitious 18-year-old, Ronaldo almost had to re-learn how to play the game.
The guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson was crucial in him doing that.
However, that doesn’t mean it came easy, and for the first couple of years Ronaldo’s inclination for showboating frequently landed him in trouble in the eyes of the public and opposition players.
Us Premier League fans all remember the curly haired, skinny Cristiano doing step-over after step-over by the corner flag – in many ways it personified his teenage years.
Little were we all aware of the shuddering amounts of hard work he was putting in behind the scenes to develop into the titan he would eventually become.
The thing is, though, little was anyone aware that wasn’t linked to Man Utd in some way.
And consequently, his showboating went down awfully with other pros operating in the league at the time, who thought he was just taking the mick.
So what did they do about it? Well, they let him know they were there in often pretty brutal fashion.
A Twitter account, @Conor_CR7, shared a video to the platform which shows just how bad Ronaldo used to have it.
The footage is quite literally 1:54 seconds of the youngster getting thumped from absolutely every direction.

Ouch… it does make you wonder how much that kind of treatment actually built-up Ronaldo’s persistent attitude.
The most ridiculous part is even a teenage Wayne Rooney – who ended up forming a lethal strike partnership with Ronaldo – leathers him on the 0:55 second mark.
