Cristiano Ronaldo has been going through drills at La Liga side RCD Mallorca's training ground ahead of Manchester United's pre-season preparations.

New manager Erik ten Hag has ordered most of his his players back to Carrington for 27 June before the Red Devils jet off on their pre-season tour. Their first friendly comes against rivals Liverpool in Thailand on 12 July .

Star forward Ronaldo has been linked with a move away following Man Utd's disastrous 2021/22 campaign which saw them finish with 59 points in the Premier League - their lowest since its inauguration in 1992 - and fail to advance to the latter stages of the domestic cups and Champions League. It's also been speculated that he's unhappy with the club's lack of transfer activity thus far.

The 37-year-old posted a picture on his Instagram page on Friday of him ramping up his conditioning at Mallorca's facilities.

While Ten Hag wants those who did not partake in any international matches in June to report to Carrington on Monday, Ronaldo is among those who will return for pre-season at a later date.

He played in three of Portugal's four Nations League fixtures earlier this month, notably scoring a brace in a 4-0 thrashing of Switzerland. However, he drew blanks in a 1-1 stalemate away at Spain and in a 2-0 victory against the Czech Republic.
