Cristiano Ronaldo has this evening become the latest of Toni Kroos’ ex-teammates to send a message of well wishes to the German.

As much, of course, comes after Kroos rocked the football world to its very core on Tuesday afternoon.

Taking to his social media platforms, the 34-year-old announced that he has decided to hang up his boots this summer.

After seeing out the European Championships with Germany, Kroos will lower the curtain on one of the most iconic careers of the modern era.

This, in turn, means that the midfield maestro has just two games left to play with Real Madrid, the club’s La Liga season finale against Real Betis, and the Champions League finale.

Blancos stars past and present have as a result spent the day to date doing their utmost to pay proper tribute to a departing legend.

And, as alluded to above, a short time ago, joining the list was none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having enjoyed a trophy-laden stint together in Spain’s capital, frontman Ronaldo took to the comments section of Kroos’ latest Instagram post, to unveil the following message:

“(Thanks) for everything, Toni! What an honour to share the pitch with you. All the best for the future!”
