Cristiano Ronaldo scored against Manchester United with an outrageous goal on Wednesday but Manchester United came back to win in Turin.

The Juventus star netted a magnificent volley against his former club which left David de Gea with no chance.

With the ball flying behind him from Leonardo Bonucci’s long pass forward, Ronaldo allowed it to dip over his shoulder and fired a shot first time to put the Turin giants ahead.

The Portuguese superstar waited for the ball to drop at the perfect moment and executed the strike with aplomb in a truly world class moment against the Red Devils.

It was his first goal for Juventus in the Champions League having joined this summer.

The strike saw him become the fifth player to score a goal in Europe’s top competition for a team from England, Spain and Italy after Julio Baptista, Álvaro Morata, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Llorente.

Ronaldo’s effort on 65 minutes put the Serie A champions ahead and on the brink of the knockout stages as Group H leaders.

However, while it initially proved disastrous for United, the team he left in 2009, José Mourinho’s men pulled off a stunning comeback. The visitors scored two late goals to win 2-1 and rob Juve of victory.
