Cristiano Ronaldo ruled out of Man Utd’s final Premier League game
Ralf Rangnick will be in charge of Manchester United for the final time this weekend, with his side making the trip to London to face Crystal Palace in their Premier League curtain-closer.
Cristiano Ronaldo has impressed this season and is one strike away from reaching the 25-goal mark for the campaign but according to reports, the forward will be absent this weekend.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Ronaldo will miss Sunday’s 90-minute affair due to a hip flexor issue, a reoccurring injury for the 37-year-old.
As per the report, Paul Pogba, who is rumoured to be closing in on a move to Juventus, will also not feature as the Frenchman ends his disappointing six-year stint at Old Trafford.
The loss of Ronaldo is a huge blow to Rangnick and his hopes of sealing a route into next season’s Europa League, with only a victory being enough to do so if West Ham are victorious in their game.
Should West Ham walk away with three points from their game against Brighton, failure to win at Selhurst Park would mean that United drop down into the Europa Conference League for the first time.
Ronaldo has one year remaining on his contract at United and although there have been suggestions that he would be ready to walk away, incoming manager Erik ten Hag has insisted he ‘can’t wait’ to work with the Portugal international.
