Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink went at it in a heated debate about Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday evening.

The Portuguese forward caused a stir in mid-week for refusing to come on in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Instead of taking to the field in the 89th minute as Erik ten Hag instructed, Ronaldo down the tunnel and to the dressing room.

The Portuguese forward was made to train with United's u21s and dropped for their Premier League clash against Chelsea, which finished 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Keane refused to criticise Ronaldo before the game as he defended his actions on Sky Sports.

He then got into a heated debate with Neville and Hasselbaink after the game.

Keane got extremely animated when Neville slammed Ronaldo's actions and the consequences they have.

Neville started: "He walked off against Everton last season after being left out by Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] in one of his first games. Doing that to Rashford - with the body language. He knows what he's doing: he's an experienced player. Players of that power have a really negative influence on the others when they do it."

Keane responded: "Loads of people do it! I'd be worried if he was happy to be taken off!"

Neville replied: "I love Ronaldo to bits - but you can't defend him for leaving the ground… twice!"

Keane fired back: "Of course not. He will get punished. But he gives you something back!"

Hasselbaink then got involved, saying: "He doesn't give enough back at the moment. He doesn't!"

Neville later argued that there aren't many United fans who wouldn't have him in the team at the moment, to which Keane replied: "I couldn't care less what the fans think. The fans don't have a clue what's going on."

Keane also got annoyed when Hasselbaink tried to interrupt him towards the end of the debate.

"Let me finish! Let me finish!" Keane said.

Hasselbaink realised it probably was best to let Keane finish as he quickly said: "Sorry..."

Unfortunately the debate came to an end after Sky Sports ran out of time.

If they hadn't, the argument may have raged on all night.
