Cristiano Ronaldo is a god at Real Madrid.
The club’s all-time record goalscorer with an astonishing record of 450 goals in just 438 games, the Portuguese can sleep soundly in the knowledge that his place in Real history is secure forever.
Besides, even in world where Ronaldo‘s record is broken one day, he still produced more than enough in the way of epic moments to be remembered for decades and centuries to come.
From his extraordinary bicycle kick against Juventus to his superhuman header in the 2011 Copa del Rey final, Ronaldo’s goals weren’t just numerous, but absolutely breath-taking too.
So although Ronaldo might never have reunited with Los Blancos as had so often been touted, rest assured that the association between player and club will continue on and on in spirit.

And that special bond was on show for the world to see when Ronaldo reunited with the Real Madrid first team during their trip to Saudi Arabia this week.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men were in town as they look to win the Supercopa de España in Riyadh, which is the city of Ronaldo’s new club: Al-Nassr.
As such, the chance for Ronaldo to swing by and say ‘hello’ was simply too good to miss with wholesome footage of the great man greeting Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Carlos soon emerging.
However, there was also the opportunity for Ronaldo to check in with the players themselves once they had concluded their on-pitch preparations for the final against Barcelona on January 15.
In fact, images of Real stars posing for a photograph with Ronaldo quickly started to pop up on the club’s social media feeds, underlining just how much of a superstar he continues to be.
But of all the Real players to have gotten the opportunity to meet Ronaldo, we’re inclined to think that none of them were more in awe than Rodrygo.
The Brazilian moved to the Bernabeu just two years after Ronaldo had waved goodbye and will have watched the Portuguese superstar on television long before starting his own career.
And you only have to look at footage of Rodrygo’s reaction to meeting Ronaldo, presumably for the first time, to see just how much of a fan he really is.
That’s because ESPN pointed out how the 22-year-old ‘got the shivers’ mere seconds after posing for a photo with Ronaldo, showing his trembling right hand to the camera.
And it seems highly unlikely that it would be unrelated because Rodrygo was also keen to express his admiration for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner when he posted the snap to his social media.
The fact that Rodrygo captioned the image: “Meeting my biggest idol!” just about said it all.
It really is a testament to Ronaldo’s longevity at the top level of professional football that he’s essentially treated like a living legend by players who are ultimately his contemporaries.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Rodrygo was a youth player coming through the ranks or that Ronaldo had hung up his boots already, but no, they really are sharing the same generation.
And that’s not a slight, by the way, because it must be incredibly surreal for Rodrygo to get to spend time with an individual who he’s no doubt spent great swathes of his life looking up to.
Football isn’t half a crazy and beautiful thing.
