Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? Aston Villa star Alisha Lehmann has now had her say.

The greatest of all-time debate has long divided opinion, with Ronaldo and Messi both generational players in their own right.

While the likes of Diego Maradona, Pep Guardiola and David Beckham have argued Messi’s case as the GOAT, Sir Alex Ferguson and Pele are of the opinion that the Portuguese star deserves this title.

Who is Alisha Lehmann?

Lehmann is a Swiss professional footballer, who plays as a forward for Villa.

The 23-year-old has previously played for West Ham and Everton in the Women’s Super League and has 34 caps for the Swiss national team so far.

She started her career at Young Boys Frauen, before moving to the Hammers in 2018.

Lehmann also boasts more than eight million Instagram followers and is sponsored by Adidas.

This season, she has one league goal to her name, which came against Man City in September.

Villa have started the season brilliantly and sit fifth in the WSL right now, with four wins from their opening seven matches.

Lehmann was asked by a fan who she believed to be the best between Messi and Ronaldo and the forward was quick to give her opinion.

“Ronaldo,” she said emphatically.

How did fans react to Lehmann’s opinion?

Fans were understandably mixed in their response to Lehmann’s opinion.

One wrote: “Alisha knows ball. Ronaldo is the true GOAT.”

Meanwhile, another echoed this thought and stated: “Common W.”

A third added: “Finally a celebrity said Ronaldo.”

However, others disagreed with Lehmann and stressed that Messi was the greatest ever.

“L for Lehmann,” one fan said.

“No ball knowledge,” professed another.

Are Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz still together?

Lehmann revealed she was in a relationship with fellow Villa star Douglas Luiz in 2021.

However, the two have reportedly split over a disagreement regarding Lehmann’s new calendar.

The Sun has alleged that Luiz was unhappy with the Swiss star’s participation in the calendar but Lehmann has released it anyway.

There are no photos of the pair together on either Luiz or Lehmann’s social media platforms, though neither player has commented on the alleged split.

Luiz is currently representing Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, while Lehmann is said to have moved in with a teammate.

This news comes just two months after Luiz made by Brazilian TV host Milton Neves.
