Cristiano Ronaldo move to Chelsea was discussed in Todd Boehly – Jorge Mendes meeting
the Chelsea News
David Ornstein has just dropped one of the most explosive stories of the summer so far, declaring that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met super agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal last week.
They discussed several things – but nothing was bigger than the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo coming to Chelsea.
The 37 year old returned to Manchester United last summer amongst much fanfare, but despite scoring a lot of goals, was unable to stop their slide back into mediocrity.
Ornstein is careful to say that it’s “unclear if Chelsea will pursue” the links, which probably means there’s nothing to it, but it’s a juicy possibility.
Ronaldo is said to be unhappy about a lack of transfer activity at Manchester United – one can only imagine he would have similar concerns were he at Chelsea right now.
He’s on a colossal wage, and would cost money to buy from Man U. It’s hard to see it happening – but what other Mendes clients might we see on the move?
