They say you should never meet your heroes – unless your hero is Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Real Madrid superstar made one little boy’s dreams come true on Saturday, as he broke through the security checks and got a picture with his idol.

Ronaldo was part of the Portugal squad as they arrived at Lisbon airport, ready to fly to Russia ahead of the World Cup which starts next week.

And one fan was left “crying with happiness” having been embraced by the Ballon d’Or winner.

His mother told reporters: “He loves the national team so he is now very happy. He managed to get an autograph from Cristiano Ronaldo and now he is crying with happiness.”
