Cristiano Ronaldo is fighting to be fit in time for Juventusâ upcoming Champions League quarter-final clash with Ajax.
Ronaldo picked up a thigh injury during Portugalâs 1-1 draw with Serbia last Monday and subsequently missed Juveâs 1-0 win over Empoli on Saturday evening.
Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri admitted in his pre-match press conference that the 34-year-old is a doubt for the first leg of the Ajax tie but a video posted to his official Instagram account before the Empoli game suggests heâs stepping up his rehabilitation.
âWorking hard on my recovery,â wrote Ronaldo under a video of him swimming.
And speaking after picking up the injury, the Portuguese appeared confident of a swift return to the field.
âIâm not worried because I know my body perfectly,â he said.
âIt happens, itâs football. Whoâs out there risks it. Iâm calm, because I know Iâm going to be back well in one or two weeks with no problem.
âI want to be in national team in the next matches. I was absent for eight months because I needed some time for myself.
âIt was a radical change for me I needed a little time to adapt to my new life in Turin.â
Fingers crossed.
