Cristiano Ronaldo scored one of the more spectacular goals of his career, rising to a height of 2.56 meters to connect on a glorious back-post header to help Juventus defeat Sampdoria 2-1.
After the match, he reflected on the goal and declared himself 100 per cent to face Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana final this Sunday.
“2.56 meters? I didn’t know, I’m happy about the result. We played better than Sampdoria, with a great attitude. It was a very nice goal, I’m very happy about this.
“It’s a final, (we are) 50-50 (to win). Lazio are a very strong team, but we have confidence and I hope that Juventus can win, that’s what we want.
“I’m fine, I spent a month with knee pain. Now I’m fine and I want to help Juventus win games and trophies.”
Inter Milan will have a chance to regain the top spot in Serie A on Saturday when they host Genoa.
