Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of next season, according to reports in Italy.
The Portuguese signed a contract until 2022 when joining Juve last summer.
However, Juve’s early exit from the Champions League has cast doubt over Ronaldo’s plans to remain long-term.
This week saw Ronaldo exit the Champions League at the quarter-final stage for the first time in his career as Ajax stunned the Italian giants in Turin.
According to Repubblica, Ronaldo is considering his future after the defeat. The 34-year-old will not leave Italy this summer but a departure in 2020 is no longer ruled out.
These claims are echoed by Gazzetta dello Sport, who say Ronaldo has not taken the defeat to Ajax well.
However, their report appears to be thin, mainly pointing to the forward’s lack of activity on social media.
Whether or not there’s any truth to these claims will be seen over the next few months.
One thing’s for sure: another season of disappointment in Europe’s biggest club competition would definitely leave Ronaldo with some big questions.
