Ronaldo missed Man Utd's tour of Thailand and Australia and is currently trying to force an exit in search of Champions League football.

90min understands that while the 37-year-old is intent on leaving Old Trafford, the club want to keep him and Ronaldo will make himself available for selection to new manager Erik ten Hag.

Man Utd's number seven confirmed on Friday that he will likely make his on-field return in Sunday's friendly at home to Rayo Vallecano, and posted a picture on Instagram on Saturday to reveal that he has resumed first-team training.

He posed for the photo alongside Charlie McNeill, Amad Diallo, Charlie Savage and Hannibal Mejbri, with Man Utd's lineup against Rayo Vallecano expected to feature a number of fringe or youth players.

Most of Ten Hag's key men played in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in Oslo. Joao Felix scored the winner late on and Fred was sent off for two bookable offences, while Christian Eriksen made his debut from the bench.
