Portuguese superstar had been linked with Al-Nassr exit ahead of Club World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will stay at Al-Nassr this summer, despite rumours that he would leave the Saudi side in order to play at the Club World Cup.
Ronaldo, who led his Portugal team to the Nations League trophy in Munich on Sunday night, posted a cryptic message on his X account following the culmination of the Saudi Pro League season, hinting that he could now move on.
The 40-year-old’s contract at Al-Nassr is set to expire at the end of this month, but no such agreement between Ronaldo and the club had been reported.
However, now Ronaldo has put all rumours on his future to rest, saying that he will be an Al-Nassr player next season.

“Future? It won't change anything. Al-Nassr, yes,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said.
The news comes after first, FIFA president Gianni Infantino had revealed that there were ongoing discussions to try and convince Ronaldo to join a team playing at this summer’s inaugural Club World Cup in the United States, and second, the former Manchester United forward shunned those rumours ahead of the Nations League final, where he announced that he would not play at the tournament this summer.
Ronaldo, who scored in both Portugal’s semi-final and final wins over the past week, lifted his third international trophy, following his country’s Euro 2016 and Nations League 2019 triumphs.
Roberto Martinez’s Selecao twice came from a goal down to force a penalty shootout at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
The Portuguese were perfect with their spot-kicks, while Spain’s Alvaro Morata missed the crucial fourth penalty for the reigning European champions, who had gone ahead in normal time through Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Oyarzabal.
Nuno Mendes equalised in the 26th minute for Portugal, before Ronaldo poked home at the far post just after the hour for 2-2.
Ronaldo did not take a penalty in the shootout having been substituted in the 88th minute for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos, who netted Portugal's first penalty.
