At 40 years old, Ronaldo scored his 41st goal in World Cup qualifying matches, surpassing Guatemalaโ€™s Carlos Ruiz (40 goals).

Thanks to this brace, he now has 143 goals for Portugal and 947 goals in his career (including both club and international appearances). Heโ€™s just 53 goals away from reaching the 1,000-goal milestone.

Despite his heroics, Portugal conceded a late equalizer against Hungary. The Portuguese will have to wait until November to secure their qualification.
